They often feature a pre-installed wedge clip with a visual indicator for successful termination when used with a Visual Fault Locator (VFL). Many connectors are tool-less, allowing termination in under 30 seconds, ideal for FTTH, LAN, and data center applications (AFL, Extron, CFOFC) . Housing and Durability: Connector housings are typically UL94 V-0 flame-retardant for indoor use. Some designs include metal sleeves and threaded locking structures for shock resistance and high stability, suitable for high-density environments (CFOFC) . High-Density and Space-Saving Design: LC connectors, for example, use 1.25 mm ferrules, doubling port density compared to SC connectors, which is advantageous in racks, enclosures, and panels where space is limited (Panduit) . Packaging and Traceability: Connectors are individually packed in anti-static PE bags to protect the ferrule endface. Bulk orders are supplied in blister trays (10, 50, 100 pieces) with end-face inspection records and serial codes for traceability (CFOFC) .
