Inside the bottom core, fibers are usually laid into splicing or connecting trays, which can hold multiple cores (e.g., 12-core trays). Each fiber is secured with heat shrink tubes or protective sleeves after fusion or mechanical splicing. The trays are often stacked from the bottom up, ensuring that fibers are evenly distributed and easily accessible for maintenance . Nylon ties or clips are used to fix the fibers and prevent tangling, while reinforced steel cores or quartz rods provide additional structural support for the cables .
The bottom core also plays a role in cable fixation and strain relief. The incoming fiber cables are clamped using cable-pressing cards, and the reinforced steel core is secured to prevent stress on the fibers. The box itself is typically made of durable ABS or ABS+ material, offering IP65 protection, making it waterproof and dustproof for both indoor and outdoor applications . This ensures that the fibers remain protected from environmental factors while maintaining network reliability.
